There is no denying that the last year has been hard for everyone. No part of our lives has seemingly been unaffected in some way by the coronavirus pandemic. Our freedom to move about, even within our local area has been controlled and restricted like never before – and with good reason. Therefore, it’s no surprise that for anyone who needs to or wants to travel abroad, it has been hard to achieve flying out to America.
Due to the changeable nature of everything at the moment and the fact that new rules and restrictions are brought in and changed on a monthly, weekly, or even daily basis, you must keep yourself informed.
If you have plans to fly out to America, you need to make sure you know all that’s required for you to qualify for airline travel to the US, which includes ensuring you have a recent America Fit to Fly Certificate.
Can You Travel to America?
Although as of the 4th January 2021, all international travel was prohibited by the UK government, if you had a legally permitted reason you can fly out to America. You also need to have evidence that you have had a negative antigen swab test and a PCR certificate for travel taken within 72-hours before your flight.
Pure Testing offers the relevant testing you need.
Is the Pure Testing PCR Swab Test for Travel Approved by America?
As the testing conducted by Pure Testing is carried out at our UKAS-approved lab, yes it is fully authorised by the British government and most foreign countries, those with open borders will accept the documentation and test results as evidence.
What Documentation do you get?
When you go to Pure testing for your PCR certificate for travel, you get the antigen swab test results, you can even have your PCR same-day results if you pay a little extra and you get the America Fit to Fly Certificate. All of the necessary information is displayed on this certificate, such as:
- Your full name, address, and contact details
- Your passport ID number
- Your Covid-19 antigen PCR test result (which obviously should be negative)
- The signature of a GP to show it has come from an official source
- Audit and test report details for our UKAS-accredited testing facility
Will you need to Quarantine When you Arrive in America, even if you have a Negative Test Result?
Ideally, yes. The American Government and CDC offer advice to all travelers arriving in America, even with a negative Covid-19 test result, should self-isolate as much as they possibly can during the first 14 days after arriving there. This is something, at the moment, you should consider when booking your trip.
It’s worth remembering that you should only really book a trip to America if you have a legally permitted reason for doing so. We are not sure yet when international travel will be completely legal again, without a good reason, and even when it is, the threat of Covid-19 and catching it will still be very real. You should always practice social distancing, wear a mask where possible and regularly wash your hands or sanitise them to keep safe.
